How Grown Tracker handles your data
A plain-English summary of what we store and why. A full privacy policy will be published before the public launch.
What we store, and why
| What | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address | Signing you in with a one-time code | Our database in London |
| Your name, time zone and reminder settings | Showing who’s handling what, and reminding you at sensible times | Our database in London |
| Households, tasks, notes and their history | The service itself | Our database in London |
| Reminders and updates | Your Updates inbox and phone notifications | Our database; phone notifications pass through Expo’s push service |
| Error reports (the error, screen, platform and app version) | Fixing bugs. Never your task content | Our database, deleted after 90 days |
| Your postcode or town, if you use Find help nearby | Searching near you | Only on your device |
What we don’t do
We don’t show ads, use analytics or tracking tools, sell your data, or build profiles from your tasks.
Who can see your tasks
Shared tasks are visible to the people in your household. Tasks marked Just me are visible only to you. Nobody outside your household can see its tasks.
Your choices
In the app, go to Settings, then Your data. You can download everything Grown Tracker holds about you, or delete your account. Deleting your account removes your profile, sign-in, private tasks, notifications and calendar link. Shared tasks you created stay with your household so nobody loses track, with your name removed from their history.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
How long we keep things
While you have an account, we keep what the service needs. Error reports are deleted after 90 days and notifications after 180 days. When you delete your account, your data is deleted straight away.
